We hear the words – hibernation, brumation – but how do so many of our wild neighbors just bed down for a long winter’s nap? Magic! Okay, it’s science but that doesn’t make it any less magical when we learn how several critters have figured out how to enter a state of suspended animation, whether they are hanging upside down, covered in the duff, buried alive, or at the bottom of the lake. Join Lake Paran and naturalist Arianna Alexsandra Collins of the Hoosic River Watershed Association (HooRWA) for this family-friendly program on Thursday, November 19 from 3:30-4:30pm. This event is free and open to the public and takes place at the Lake Paran Community Center, 269 Houghton Street, North Bennington, VT 05257. All are welcome. Registration is requested. Please register HERE.
